How My Marketing Automations Came to Be
A few years ago, I was selling out of one of my most popular sales trainings, Persuade to Profit, on a consistent basis. In fact, I was starting to hit six-figure months. There was just one big problem: I had to do most of the sales activity manually to get those kinds of results. If I wanted to scale beyond that, it meant more work for me. At the same time, there was a family health crisis as well as my own mental health crisis so I just did not have the time, capacity or wherewithal to continue working that hard.

I tried training team to assist with sales, but that came with it’s own challenges. So eventually, I decided I wanted a machine of a business that could run on autopilot 24/7 whether I was working or not. I wanted to take all the sales activity I would be doing manually, and automate as much of it as humanly possibly.
That lead to a two year deep-dive on learning everything I could about marketing automations, scaling and leveraged forms of lead generation. That journey also led me to meet my now partner Justin a couple of years ago who just so happened to be an expert at the tech side of all these automations.
I was ready to start rebuilding my life and business after a long hiatus, and I remember him asking me “Why are you so obsessed with systems?” and I said “Because I need space in my life for relationships, travel, pursuing my dream of living in other countries, etc.” He looked at me and said “Challenge Accepted.”
That was about a year ago, and now we’ve tested and tweaked enough automations – plus taught some to a select group of clients – where we know exactly what’s working and what’s not. Plus, this business now runs 24/7 whether we are actively creating marketing content, traveling, or going to salsa classes.
Why Marketing Automations Matter
Marketing automations matter because it’s the difference between working smart versus hard. It’s the difference between hustling and building. In the online business space, everyone is just taught to work harder. Very few people teach how to actually build something that can run whether you are working or not. We want to change that and help our audience move toward working smart, not exhausting themselves by working harder.

- Step 1: Social media content, specifically YouTube and search engine optimized content on this website. This is the initial point of contact that gets someone’s attention and runs all the time.
- Step 2: A lead magnet of some kind – like a free guide,a whitepaper etc. The key is to make sure the lead magnet solves one problem and is very specific to the type of content you put out. It would be the next logical step in the customer journey.
- Step 3: On the thank you page, invite to a call. You can check out what one of our thank you pages looks like here.
- Step 4: Have a series of automated emails, text messages and voice mail drops that pre-sells the leads and invites them to some sort of a call.
